~More than 50 Mumbai restaurants join NRAI’s drive, offering 20% discount to voters who dine-in and show proof of voting~
Mumbai, 18th November, 2024 (TGN) : The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) Mumbai Chapter has launched a special initiative, the ‘Democracy Discount,’ to encourage higher voter turnout in the upcoming general elections. On 20th & 21st of November 2024, voters can enjoy a 20% discount on their total dine-in bill at participating restaurants across Mumbai.
The NRAI’s initiative comes at a crucial time, as Chief Election Commissioner Shri Rajiv Kumar has voiced concerns over urban voter apathy and is striving for maximum voter turnout in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. This drive aims to motivate young urban voters to participate and make their voices heard in the election.
Speaking on this occasion Rachel Goenka, NRAI Mumbai Chapter Head, said, “This initiative by the NRAI aims to inspire our young urban voters to actively engage in the voting process, celebrating our country’s vibrant and robust democratic framework, one of the largest in the world. I extend heartfelt thanks to all the participating brands and restaurants for enthusiastically joining this cause and encouraging young voters to make the most of this unique offer.”
More than 50 restaurants have already confirmed their participation in this initiative. Participating restaurants will offer a 20% discount on the total bill to dine-in customers who present a voter ID showing Mumbai residency and an inked finger as proof of voting.
