GSB Sabha’s Dahisar Dussehra Ushers in 18th Navaratri Utsav with Daily Swaroops and Grand Deepostav

After a grand Ganeshotsav, the GSB community now invites devotees to experience Maa Devi in all her forms, with each day unveiling a new Swaroop and Ashtami marked by a radiant lamp-lit celebration.

Mumbai, 23 September 2025 ( TGN ): For our readers, we would like to highlight that this Sabha is associated with the same community that conducts the renowned Ganesh Utsav at Kings Circle, but it functions under a separate Charitable Trust now welcomes devotees to its 18th edition of Dahisar Dussehra, a Navaratri Utsav that blends devotion, tradition, and community spirit. The celebrations will take place from 22nd September to 2nd October 2025 at the Saraswat Cultural and Recreation Centre (G.S.B. Garden), Dahisar East.

What began in 2008 with the divine blessings of Parama Pujya Shrimad Sudhindra Teertha Swamiji has today grown into one of Mumbai’s most awaited Navaratri festivals. At the heart of the celebrations is the Sabha’s unique tradition of adorning the Devi in a different Swaroop every day, offering devotees the chance to experience and worship each of her divine avatars. This daily transformation has become one of Mumbai’s most distinctive Navaratri attractions, blending devotion with breathtaking artistry. Each year, more than 1.5 lakh Mumbaikars visit the 45,000 sq. ft. pandal.

Another unmissable highlight is the Deepotsav on Ashtami, where thousands of diyas illuminate the pandal in a breathtaking tribute to Maa Kali. The visual grandeur of flickering flames, devotional chants, and collective prayer creates a truly mesmerizing atmosphere that devotees cherish year after year.

The Utsav is as much about Seva as it is about Shakti. More than 50,000 devotees are served Mahaprasad annually, scholarships worth Rs. 15–20 lakhs are distributed to deserving students, and over 2,000 children receive free educational kits during the festival. Regular blood donation camps, free health check-ups, and ongoing medical aid extend the Sabha’s commitment to community welfare. Classical dance, bhajans, kirtans, instrumental music and the mesmerizing Deepotsav further enrich the cultural and spiritual fabric of the event.

Speaking about the milestone year, Shri Jayesh Prabhu, from GSB Sabha Dahisar-Borivali, said: “For 18 years, Dahisar Dussehra has been more than just a celebration, it has been a journey of faith, seva, and togetherness. This year reaffirms our commitment to carrying forward our traditions while serving the community through education, healthcare and Annadana. We warmly welcome Mumbaikars to immerse themselves in the divinity and cultural richness of our Navaratri Utsav.”

The festival will also be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook (@GSBSabhaDahisar), ensuring devotees from across the globe can be part of the celebrations.
