–Redefining Education
IS THE BI-MONTHLY E-NEWSPAPER ON EDUCATION LAUNCHED BY VKAL
MUMBAI, 16th JULY, 2025 ( TGN ): Vantage Knowledge Academy Ltd. (BSE: VKAL) in partnership with the Financial Literacy & Inclusion Foundation (FLIF) announced the national launch of the CFL- Certified Financial Literate program, a multi-tiered financial education initiative targeting school children, college students and the general public. This new program is designed to address pervasive gaps in financial awareness – from investing and budgeting to debt management and digital payments – that traditional schooling in India has largely overlooked. According to industry surveys, only about 27% of young Indian adults are financially literate, highlighting the urgent need for structured education in personal finance. The curriculum fills this critical void: it follows National Strategy for Financial Education recommendations by integrating financial concepts into learning, effectively weaving money management and digital transaction skills into everyday education.
The Certified Financial Literate program comprises six progressive certification levels, each delivered through interactive, easy-to-understand video modules supplemented with real-life case studies and practical exercises. Participants will learn foundational concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing, responsible borrowing, digital banking, and debt planning, applying them to simulated real- life scenarios. To support diverse learning preferences, the content is also available in print form through a book series titled Wallet Wisdom — one book each for all the six levels.
These books align directly with the video curriculum and provide added reinforcement through examples, worksheets, and illustrations. Learners who complete all six levels and pass the final assessment are awarded the Certified Financial Literate certificate, marking their readiness to manage personal finances with confidence.
In addition, for younger children, Vantage offers a specially curated three-level foundational program called ABC of Money. Designed to introduce kids to the basics of money, needs vs. wants, saving habits, and simple spending decisions, this program is available through both books and interactive tools. Upon completion of all three levels, children are also awarded a Certified Financial Literate, encouraging financial literacy from an early age.
Our course modules are engaging and interactive – with videos, quizzes, infographics, and relatable exercises – so learners of all ages can easily grasp financial topics and apply them in real contexts.
This hands-on approach builds lifelong financial habits from a young age, echoing the views of experts who note that “learning about money is perhaps one of the most important skills that should be taught early in life.”
Vantage and FLIF have collaborated for several years to develop and refine this curriculum. The FLIF founded by the promotors of vantage have granted full copyright to Vantage Knowledge Academy Ltd. for further curriculum development, delivery and nationwide rollout. Financial Literacy & Inclusion Foundation (FLIF) is charitable foundation and promoted by promoters of Vantage Knowledge Academy Limited. This ensures a unified, high-quality launch across the country.
The academy’s founder, Mr. Rajesh Dedhia, explains that the goal is to create a movement: ―Vantage Knowledge Academy Ltd. is committed to aligning education with industry needs, ensuring our learners graduate not just with knowledge, but with the skills to succeed in the real world.‖ The Certified Financial Literate initiative embodies that mission by democratizing financial education beyond college-level courses, reaching young learners and adults alike.
Economic leaders emphasize the importance of this mission.
Former RBI Governor Dr. Raghuram Rajan has long advocated early financial education. He recently noted that “there is a strong need to run a campaign for financial education of schoolchildren”. Similarly, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh highlighted the need to empower the underserved through knowledge: “Adequate attention should be paid to organizing the demand side of credit delivery by organizing financial literacy and financial counselling services for the poor,” he said during a review of rural employment schemes. These calls for action underscore the nationwide push toward inclusive financial empowerment.
The launch also dovetails with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive finance. In launching the Jan-Dhan Yojana for universal banking access, he declared “It is the end of financial untouchability, [and] the beginning of freedom from poverty”. The government has since backed financial education campaigns and encouraged corporate engagement. Initiatives under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Inclusive Development theme include large-scale financial literacy and digital transaction awareness drives at the village level. Companies are now being urged to include financial education as part of their social responsibility programs, recognizing that a financially savvy population benefits the entire economy.
