Over 35000 Across Maharashtra Participate in 12th International Day of Yoga Sessions Conducted By Isha Foundation

Mumbai, 22 June 2026 ( TGN ) : Marking the International Day of Yoga, Isha Foundation conducted over 100 yoga and meditation sessions across Maharashtra, with an estimated participation of more than 35,000 people from corporates, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, government bodies, defence establishments, and community spaces.

In Mumbai, among the major government institutions that participated were the Western Naval Command, Central Railways, IRCTC. Prominent corporations that hosted the sessions included HDFC Life, BDO India, IPCA Laboratories, among others. Statewide sessions were conducted for the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs – Maharashtra, YASHADA, Pune’s City Police, Traffic Police force and GST Bhavan. Building on this momentum, over 125 additional sessions are planned over the coming week, expected to engage more than 10,000 participants.

Reflecting on the significance of yoga and its relevance in today’s world, Sadhguru shared on social media platform X: “The International Day of Yoga is a reminder that what we call Yoga is not a philosophy, an ideology, a belief system or a religion. This is the science and technology for inner wellbeing. Whatever your religion, race, caste, creed, gender, these technologies render you to optimal existence – to peak performance in body, mind, emotion, intelligence and energies and above all, it will unlock the potential of the genius that is in every human being.”

As part of its nationwide outreach for the International Day of Yoga, Isha Foundation organised nearly 1,000 free yoga and meditation sessions across the country which offered practices such as Nadi Shuddhi and Yog Namaskar. Participants were also introduced to Miracle of Mind, Sadhguru’s free seven-minute guided meditation that enables anyone to effortlessly make meditation a part of their daily routine. Offered through the Miracle of Mind app, the meditation has reached over 3.5 million active users globally. Requiring no prior knowledge or experience of yoga and meditation, it is accessible to people from all walks of life and is available free for life at isha.sadhguru.org/in/en/miracle-of-mind.

Complementing the nationwide outreach, special celebrations were also held at Isha centers across India. At Sadhguru Sannidhi Bengaluru, a large-scale gathering in the presence of Adiyogi brought together more than 3,000 participants, including NCC cadets, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, students, villagers, volunteers, and members of the public. At the Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore, over 700 participants, including 500 students from the Young Indians Coimbatore Chapter and 200 personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), took part in yoga and meditation sessions
