12. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heat wave conditions to continue over Northwest India during the next 5 days. According to the IMD, heat wave conditions will continue over West Madhya Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and East Rajasthan till the 29th of this month.
Similar conditions will prevail over Central and East India, including Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Gangetic West Bengal till the 26th of this month.

7. Tamil Nadu has banned the manufacture, storage, and sale of mayonnaise prepared from raw eggs for a period of one year with effect from April 8. The ban, issued in the interest of public health, is on the basis that mayonnaise made of raw eggs is a “high risk food”, carrying a risk of food poisoning.

Around 1,000 tourists were stranded in picturesque North Sikkim on Thursday following landslides in the Himalayan state which is also witnessing heavy rain. The authorities have cancelled all permits given to tourists for visiting the region on April 25.

1. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi will visit Jammu and Kashmir today in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.
2. In view of the terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, a decision has been taken to scale down the ceremonial display during the Retreat Ceremony at Attari in Amritsar, Hussainiwala in Ferozepur and Sadki in Fazilka, in Punjab.
3. Border Security Force also decided not to open gates during the Beating the Retreat ceremony held at all the three places in Punjab.
