Mukhi currently serves as the Director and Head of the Maharashtra State Council of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), a position he has held since February 2013. Having spent over two decades with FICCI, he rose through the ranks from Deputy Director to Joint Director before assuming leadership of the Maharashtra chapter.
An MBA in Marketing from Guru Ghasidas University, Mukhi has played a pivotal role in strengthening ties between industry, government and international stakeholders. Under his stewardship, FICCI Maharashtra has emerged as a leading platform for policy advocacy, investment promotion and business networking across Maharashtra and Goa.
Over the years, Mukhi has spearheaded several high-profile initiatives, including post-Budget analysis sessions, MSME development programmes, textile and real estate summits, and international business forums. He has also led engagements with diplomatic delegations from countries such as Indonesia, Belarus and China to promote bilateral trade and investment opportunities.
Industry observers credit him with helping create a robust dialogue between businesses and government agencies, particularly in areas related to Ease of Doing Business reforms, infrastructure development and industrial policy. His efforts have contributed to positioning Maharashtra as one of India’s most attractive investment destinations.
Beyond boardrooms and policy discussions, Mukhi is widely respected for his ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders and foster meaningful collaborations.
As he celebrates his birthday on July 17, colleagues and members of the industry fraternity have lauded his dedication, leadership and enduring commitment to advancing Maharashtra’s economic growth story—qualities that continue to define his distinguished career in public policy and business advocacy.
