Glamour, Grandeur & Gujarati Pride: 22nd Transmedia Awards Shine with CM Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai 2 nd December 2025 (TGN): Mumbai witnessed a spectacular celebration of Gujarati entertainment as the 22nd Annual Transmedia Gujarati Screen & Stage Awards 2024—presented by Mumbai Samachar—lit up Hotel Sahara Star with unmatched splendour. Marking a historic moment, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis graced the ceremony for the first time.
Recognised as the world’s oldest and largest platform honouring Gujarati film, television, and theatre, the Transmedia Awards this year partnered with Mumbai Samachar, the world’s oldest newspaper, adding immense prestige. A total of 55 artists and technicians were felicitated.
Eleven distinguished personalities received special honours, including:
Sneha Desai (Govindbhai Patel Maharathi Award)
Sanjay Oza & Parth Oza (Mahesh–Naresh Award)
Bhoomi Trivedi (Hemu Gadhvi Award)
Rakesh Barot, Gutkarman Rabari & Vikram Thakor (Transmedia Special Awards)
Apara Mehta & Utkarsh Mazumdar (Lifetime Achievement Awards)
Community recognitions went to C.V. Shah, Rameshbhai Vora, and Sanjay Thakkar.
In theatre, Rubaru Productions’ Sambandho Sparsh Vina Na won Mumbai’s Best Play along with a ₹51,000 cash prize, while Powerful Patidar was named Best Gujarati Play.
The star-studded evening featured Anand Pandit, Jayantilal Gada, Bhargav Patel, Dharmesh Shah, Mehul Kumar, Arjan Bajwa, Ayesha Jhulka, Sunil Pal, Yogesh Lakhani, Umesh Shukla, Mona Kanodia, and Mansi Parekh Gohil. Superstar Vikram Thakor, known for rarely attending events, made a special appearance and performed live.
Performances by Vikram Thakor, Hitu Kanodia, Mona Kanodia, Reeva Rachch, Arvind Vegda, Dipika Patil, and Bhoomi Trivedi enthralled the audience. A stylish fashion show by Archana Haria’s team added glamour, with choreography by Praveen Nagar – Maggie, Tanvi Nagar, and Deepak Toori under creative director Rafiq Pathan.
Lakhs of viewers watched the event live on Mumbai Samachar’s YouTube channel, with a telecast soon to air on Soham Channel. Event execution was supported by High-Tech Events, Munjal Themes & Occasions Pvt. Ltd., and coordinated by Deepak Antani.
The film Kasumbo dominated the night with nine awards, including Best Film, while Hitu Kanodia and Niilam Panchal won Best Actor and Best Actress for Nasoor.
A grand evening of culture, entertainment and Gujarati pride, the 22nd Transmedia Awards once again reaffirmed its status as the most prestigious celebration of Gujarati talent.
