From Price Lock to Airport Priority Access Uber doubles down with new tools for daily mobility

NATIONAL, MUMBAI, 8th JULY 2025 (TGN) : Uber today launched a suite of new features that reimagine the everyday rider experience, making it more affordable, accessible, and elevated for millians across India. The rollout including features like Price Lock, Wait & Save, Simple Mode for Seniors, Airport Priority Access reflect Uber’s commitment to up level the everyday mobility experience.

India remains one of Uber’s fastest-growing markets, with over 1.4 million drivers making an earning through the platform across 125 cities. Uber is expanding rider-focused features that adapt to the real needs of Indian commuters delivering value, choice, and comfort at every turn. All new features are based on rider feedback and designed to improve everyday travel.

More affordable everyday rides

Wait & Save Pilot live in 10+ cities

For those with flexible schedules, Wait & Save offers a great way to get lower fare in exchange for a slightly longer wait time. It contrasts options like ‘Go Priority’ which cater to users who prefer faster pickups at a premium, helping riders choose what matters more in the moment they need a ride price or time.

Metro Ticketing via ONDC | Live in Delhi; next stop Chennai & Mumbai

Users can book metro tickets directly in the Uber app through our integration with ONDC. After an incredible response in Delhi, we are set to expand Metro ticketing to Chennai and Mumbai, offering a seamless, multimodal travel experience all within the Uber app.

Price Lock | Launching in December 2025

Riders can soon lock in fares for their most frequent routes by paying a small upfront fee to insulate against dynamic fares during peak hours or heavy traffic.

Making Uber more accessible

Uber for Seniors | Launching in July 2025

A simplified app experience built for older adults, with larger buttons, fewer booking steps, and real-time trip tracking for families. Reflecting Uber’s commitment to building inclusive products that meet the needs of every rider, no matter their age or tech comfort level – it is designed for those who want independence, without the tech overwhelm.

Courier XL | Live in Delhi NCR & Mumbai

Until now, Uber Courier was capped at 5 kg. With Courier XL, riders can now send large, heavy parcels up to 750 kg, including furniture, appliances, and bulk deliveries – making it ideal for personal and business needs.

Uber Pet | Live in Delhi, Mumbai & Bengaluru

A dedicated option for riders travelling with a furry friend a dog or a cat, available on reserve-only rides. Drivers are informed in advance, ensuring a smoother experience for both pet parents and partners. It’s designed to make pet travel simpler, more respectful, and stress-free.

Raising the bar on everyday travel

Airport Priority Access | Live in Pune & Hyderabad; next stop Mumbai & Noida

It’s Uber’s most seamless airport pickup experience in India to date and designed to reduce post-flight stress. Riders can now step directly from the terminal into their waiting Ubers. After Pune and Hyderabad, we’re bringing this experience to Mumbai, followed by India’s newest greenfield airport in Noida.

Uber XL Plus | Live in Bengaluru, Chennai & Hyderabad

Guaranteed larger cars like Toyota Innova for when you’re travelling in a bigger group, with bigger luggage or just need more room for yourself. More space, no surprises.
