Reliance’s Dhirubhai Ambani, a member for 30 years, will be posthumously honored with the “Lifetime Achievement Award”
MUMBAI, 11 APRIL, 2025 (TGN): The Shree Market Silk Merchants Association will celebrate the conclusion of its Amrut Mahotsav and the unveiling of textile souvenirs on Monday, 14th April, at the banquet hall of a plush Club House in Churchgate. This information was shared by the current president, Mr. Neeraj Mehta.
The Chief Guest for the ceremony will be Textile Commissioner, Smt. Roopa Rashi, and the Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Mangal Prabhat Lodha. Special Guests include Padma Bhushan Kundan Vyas and Mr. Pankaj Sheth, Managing Director of Orbit Exports Ltd.
The Shree Market Silk Merchants Association was founded in 1948. Its first meeting was chaired by Shri Giridharlal Dwarkadas. Since then, the association has made significant contributions to the progress of the silk and art silk textile trade and industry. The association provides its member merchants with arbitration services, legal guidance, and educational support.
Dhirubhai Ambani was a member of this association for 30 years. Furthermore, the association has received educational support and scholarships from the Reliance Foundation. During this event, Dhirubhai Ambani will be posthumously awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Additionally, former presidents will be honored, including Shri Pratapray V. Modi (President from 2004 to 2011), Shri Dinesh Mehta (President from 2011 to 2019), and Shri Narendra D. Mehta (President from 2019 to 2024). The late Shri Balmukund Kapadia will also be honored. The managing committee members, former office secretary Shri Sharad Shah, and current staff members will be recognized. The oldest member of the association, M/s. Pandit Vasudev Manilal, along with M/s.Premji Khushal and M/s . Raichand Rikhbdas, will be acknowledged.
The current president of the Shree Market Silk Merchants Association is Mr. Neeraj B. Mehta, the Vice President is Mr. Ashwin J. Malkan, and the Honorary Secretaries are Mr. Jayantilal K. Jain and Mr. Devang A. Shah. The Treasurer is Mr. Ashok Jai.
